~ Nickeshia Garrick is a breathtaking performing artist who's made their home a place of creation. Feeling the energy of the colourful walls painted red,blue and yellow, the breath of the plants intentionally placed around the space, and the inspiration of the artworks on the walls that help influence emotional work and story development. Nickeshia curated their home to be a meditative, open, and safe chill zone to work on their art. It felt so calm and blissful to be in the space with them.
~ In this set I had the joy of capturing them rehearse one of their solo works. They are currently working on a new solo work named 'Find Your Rhythm' that focuses on the Akashic Records and brings words, language and dreams together, to be performed in February 2024.
