~ Tarna the Art Car ~
A big, bountiful,metallic beauty created and conceived by a collective of artists, in a collective way. This Jackalope was made to journey to the epic festival Burning Man, a place where radical self expression reigns supreme, where values of decommodification, creative cooperation and collaboration are at the heart of it's philosophy and existence. The space she is created in is called 'The Yard', a large metal working space where I was able to capture one of the many days, hours and bodies that it takes to put her together. It truly felt like a community project, where skills were being shared, discussions were being had, and ideas carried across the space on what the next task was. On this particular day, her head was being forklifted onto her furry-metallic body, a truly collaborative task.
